Prague weather in December

I'm spending New Year's in Prague. What kind of weather should I expect? Is it very cold or can I bring just a jacket. Thanks, Dori

Hello Dori,

Thanks for taking the time to write us. New Year's is an exciting time to visit Prague.

But winter will be in full swing so bring lots of warm clothes - hat, gloves, scarf, warm coat - those kinds of things. Sorry, but a jacket won't be enough.

One short word of advice:

When I worked in a hotel in Prague, I would here guests often talk about the kind of shoes they brought with them and how important this or that one was. For many guests, this was one of the most important items. If this is true for you too, considering warm socks and good shoes - especially if you plan to be outdoors enjoying the festivities. It's just a thought :-)
