Iron Gate Hotel

I'm going to be in Prague at the Iron Gate Hotel. Can you tell me what kind of area it's in? I'm going to be staying there in December and would like to know if it's a walking area or what the attractions are nearby.

Iron Gate Hotel Prague

Hi, thanks for your question. The Iron Gate Hotel Prague is actually in an ideal location. You can walk to all sights from here. It's just around the corner from Old Town Square and the astronomical clock. While you're here, you will benefit from the Christmas markets in Old Town Square as well.

Not only is the Iron Gate well located, but it's on a relatively quiet street with few tourists and nearly no car traffic at all. You will certainly feel an essence of old Prague here. There are a few small passageways around the hotel too that make for ideal exploring. We suggest bringing your camera to capture some of these little details around the hotel.

Of course, this area has all kinds of restaurants and small shops worth visiting.

About five minutes walk from the hotel you'll find the famous 14th century Charles Bridge. To avoid some of the crowds on the bridge, consider a nice morning or evening walk across the bridge. Crowds are quite heavy in the mid-day to afternoon.

I hope you enjoy your stay in Prague. Be sure to bring some warm clothing for December weather. Hats, scarfs and a warm coat! And, don't forget to try a warm drink and maybe a trdlo while you walk around. These are always great ways to embed a sensual memory of Prague - sights and smells and tastes - oh, my!

All the best,

Martina
