This overview of Hotel Ungelt Prague offers a firsthand look at the area around the hotel and its details inside.
What makes this hotel one of the best in the Prague city center? Read on, because it's not just the perfect location.
This review is our personal take on Hotel Ungelt based on what we know and have seen firsthand.
For specific guest reviews, we suggest visiting Ungelt Hotel on TripAdvisor.Describing the Ungelt is an interesting endeavor. It
doesn't fit the standard tag of "hotel."

It might be better to categorize it as a Bed and Breakfast (B&B),
a Residence or
even that somewhat odd term, ApartHotel.
That's because the rooms here are much more than your
average double room. These are enormous suites - or
apartments to be more exact.
The hotel offers both two and three bedroom "hotel
rooms," each with self-catering options. Meaning you can
cook for yourself if the mood hits you.
Each room is self-contained so you are likely to feel
like you have rented a nice place rather than having
booked a room per se. We like it because there's more
independence this way. But you also get the benefit of a
hotel reception, helpful staff and a breakfast option -
combining some hotel services with the at-home feeling of
an apartment. (Only the deluxe suite has only a
kitchenette.)
Of course, if you are specifically concerned about hotel
perks and lots of amenities, you should browse through our
list of recommended central Prague hotels.
But, if you value a large room and aren't too concerned about getting a proper hotel, then we highly recommend giving the Hotel Ungelt Prague a chance. The sheer size of the rooms and level of comfort won't be matched at similar 4 star hotels in Prague.

Now for the highlight of Hotel Ungelt Prague, it's
location!
It's hard to stay at the Ungelt without doing a bit of
Prague shopping.
There are plenty of crystal and jewelry shops around
the corner offering traditional Czech crystal, amber and
garnet products.
You also might stop by the Botanicus shop in the square
just behind the hotel. They have a variety of homemade
and natural cosmetics that make nice gifts.
And if you need a book while you're here, check out Big
Ben Bookshop at Malá Štupartská 5, also
around the corner.
The hotel is located directly behind the amazing Tyn
Church in Old Town (see photo above).
But what does this mean to you, the visitor?
Well, most locals would tell you that Old Town Square is
the most central spot in Prague. It's kind of the heart
and soul of the city. It's where things seem to emanate
from.
And the Ungelt Hotel is just steps from the square. Maybe
a whole 30 second walk.
So, it's quite ideal if you are visiting to see the
number of Prague sights, taste a few local dishes and walk
around taking memorable photos.
Of course, we are obliged to tell you that Old Town is
probably the most popular area in Prague to stay. Meaning
it's also very crowded with tourists. Thankfully Hotel
Ungelt Prague is on a little street off the main path that
many people like to take.
We've never seen a tour group or noisy crowd pass by
here.
This area is also filled with restaurant options. We
suggest staying off the square and finding something down
a little street for cheaper prices and more authenticity.

The nearby astronomical Prague clock at the Old Town Hall
Tower is a must see marvel near the hotel. Visit on the
hour for the bells, apostles and cock's crow. We like to
do this early in the morning or in the evening for more
elbow room.

Hotel Ungelt Prague is a unique hotel with large
apartment suites. It's not a luxury hotel with all the
fancy amenities, but it's perfectly suitable and rated a
nice 4 stars. So, we don't hesitate to recommend it for a
short (or long) stay.
We'd like to see the hotel include breakfast in its prices or parking for cars, but these are fairly small points.
