The neighborhood is rich in sights, restaurants and cafes. Here's a list of what you will find in the immediate area:
Cafes: Right next door there is a small cozy cafe. They have beer, wine and snacks. They also have film screenings from time to time. They even have free WiFi and a computer terminal as well. There's another cafe/restaurant just across the street from the apartment. They have a full menu.
Restaurants: There are countless restaurants near the apartment - to many to list here :) For tasty Czech meals choose between Stará Praha and Olympia, both just around the corner. You can also find Thai, Mediterranean, Mexican and French cuisines nearby.
Food Stores: At the end of the street (about 100 feet) there is a small grocery store. It has everything you'll need for shorter stays. There's a larger store about 5 minutes away by tram. There's also another store on the opposite side of the street. It great because it's open till 10 pm.
Public Transport: There are two tram stops near the apartment. They are both called Ujezd. It's one of the best stops in the city. From here you can access nearly all points. The trams are great if you don't feel like walking or for a cheap tour of the city. The #22 in particular is a great tour tram. It crosses the city and hits many attractions including Prague Castle.
Sights: There are many sights within walking distance of the apartment. For example, Charles Bridge is a 5 minute walk, Old Town and Prague Castle are about 15 minutes. But there's so much to see between here and there that you might plan for more walking time :)
Also, don't forget to visit Petřín Park, the Infant Jesus of Prague, Kampa Island and the small streets of Malá Strana. Each of these are five minutes from the Joseph apartment.
