One of the most exciting ways to tour the city is by Segway. We saw a group on the weekend buzzing through Petrin taking in the wonderful views of the castle.

We recommend the Hotel Roma Prague for its location and comfort. It's near most Prague attractions including Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the Old Town. So, if you are looking for a nice Prague hotel to pamper you a bit, this is a very good choice.

If you're in Prague and are tired of the typical souvenirs, try this cool poster shop for something different. They have all kinds of Czech film posters with some special communist era items that will impress your film buff friend. Inside the shop they may not speak much English, but you can spend plenty of time flipping through the racks of interesting posters and just point to what you want.
The shop is easy to find too. It's just off of Old Town Square at Rybna 21.

Spring starts the tourist season in Prague. Of course, this could easily be known as the "walking season." More areas of Prague open up to visitors on April 1st including trails below Prague Castle.
Possibly the best thing to bring to Prague is good walking shoes. After all, you will find a few of these on the streets - with smaller versions on some sidewalks.

We've added an addition to our Hidden Prague Sights Series that highlights the quiet grace of Brevnov Abbey.
If you're looking for something different and a break from the crowds, a trip here is highly recommended. And it's only about 10 minutes by tram from Prague Castle.

Until this week, we've had snow on the ground since early January. But as the snow melted we found the first signs of spring. This is a classic flower in our Czech Republic - snowdrop (snezenky). It's always the first flower we see popping up through the snow - a well known marker that spring is on its way. Thank goodness!

Of course, as I write these words it has started snowing again! But Prague is beautiful in the snow.

Prague Castle's Golden Lane will close May 1st for a yearlong reconstruction.
In its place you will be able to visit the Rosenberg Palace instead. This will be the first time the palace is open to visitors.
The Rosenberg Palace is a 16th century building with wonderful frescoes and halls. It's not known if it will remain open after the reconstruction is complete.

We've been to Prague a few times and we never miss a chance to order fried cheese in one of our favorite pubs. It can't be good for you, but it's so tasty

Prague Castle will mark the 160th anniversary of T. G. Masaryk's birth with an exhibition about his life opening on March 2. The exhibition will be in Rozmberk Hall.
Masaryk was the first Czech president and is still beloved for helping to create a proud democratic state, Czechoslovak Republic, in 1918.
Give your eyes (and camera) a treat by climbing one of many towers in Prague. You get stunning pictures of Prague and a unique experience in these old monuments. It's usually fairly cheap too.

Prague is considered the city of one hundered spires, so take your pick which to climb. The two on Charles Bridge are certainly worth a look. Our favorite is the Old Town Hall. It offers impressive 360 degree views of the city.
